As time goes by, our bodies change too. For most men, it can be tough as muscles get weaker, energy isn't as high, and things that used to be easy become a bit more challenging. It's like doing a dance with time, trying to keep up with all the changes.

Cognitive health is linked closely with our physical wellness. The relationship between exercise and brain health is indisputable. Lifestyle affects our cognitive function and we must invest in ourselves to continue to learn and use our imaginations to see the possibilities all around us.

Relationships, once the bedrock of one's existence, can encounter turbulence in later life. The dynamics of friendships, family ties, and romantic connections undergo shifts, demanding adaptability and resilience as men navigate the intricate tapestry of their relational landscapes.

In the later stages of life, men often grapple with a spiritual shift. The quest for meaning deepens as they navigate the complexities of existence, seeking connection and purpose in a world that continually evolves. Also, men often face things like disappointment, regrets and shame over past failures and missed opportunities. To thrive in the Next Third means to forgive ourselves and move forward free from those encumbrances.

Men tend to deflect or internalize emotionally. As we age the backlog and residue of emotional avoidance often arises and we have few skills or tools to deal with that. It takes courage to intentionally face the very real battle with our emotions. We must learn to both acknowledge and master emotions.
